Dunk the junk this Feel Good Friday

The quality of your food has a direct impact on how you feel. Eat junk and you’ll feel like junk. Eat good quality food and you’ll feel good. We are all about feeling good around here because you know, it’s Feel Good Friday.

I want you to invite you to seriously consider increasing the goodness of the food you eat. You are a beautiful machine crafted perfectly to accomplish great things. Why...Why I ask you, would you fling junk, chemicals, synthetic, “franken-foods” into that beautiful body of yours?

I know what you're going to say, “Natalie, I’m busy out there doing those amazingly great things. I don't have time to take care of excellent meals, supreme fuel for my body”. Alright so let's buy that argument for one second, but have you thought of the fact that your body is going to retaliate one day and say to you “Hey! I've been doing all this amazing stuff for you and you've been feeding me junk all these years! I’m not doing amazing things for you anymore!” and it's just going to up and quit on you. So, let's prevent that from happening, and let’s upgrade little by little.

Let's talk about preparing for your improved meals....Meal Prep!

We can start simply with focusing on how we get more vegetables into our life. One awesome way of doing that are green smoothies! Do yourself a favour this weekend, go out and buy a box of resealable storage bags, any brand of your choice and buy two different types of green leafy vegetables. It can be pak choy and romaine lettuce for all I care but it could also be kale and spinach (your choice).

Wash your greens and divide them among seven of your bags. You can mix and match or you can have one green in each bag. We’re aiming to have about a cup or a cup and a half of greens in each bag. Then, get yourself a hand of bananas, slice one banana in each bag. Don't like bananas you say? Well get some other fruit that you like, maybe mango, but don't put a whole mango in each bag, half of a mango will do! Or half of a papaya!

Then you’d want to get some raw and unsalted almonds or any other kind of nut that you would prefer and soak those overnight. Put five nuts in each bag (so you would have soaked 35 nuts in all). Now seal those babies up and put them in the freezer.

There you have it, you've just prepared your green smoothies for the next week and all you have to do in the morning is to throw the contents of one bag in the blender with about 8 oz of water and you're good to go for breakfast.

I want you to give that a try, send me an email and let me know how much better you feel. Because it's all about Feel Good Fridays! Next week we’re going to tackle meal prepping for your lunch!
